Subject: Rolling Hills Neighborhood Xcel Solar Farm 10/10/2025 Dear , I am writing to ask for your support in a matter of great importance to my neighborhood. I live north of Amarillo Texas in a small neighborhood of about 300 homes. On September 26, 2025, a few of our neighborhood addresses received a “Land Owner Notice” from Xcel Energy that they have filed a CNN application with the Texas Public Utilities Commission for eight energy projects. One of those is a solar farm named Oneida 2 that borders our neighborhood on two sides. It currently is a pasture that encompasses three sections of land. Below you will find the link to the PUC docket with all filings for the docket number 58664. https://interchange.puc.texas.gov/search/filings/?UtilityType=A&ControlNumber=58664&ItemMatch=Equal&DocumentType=ALL&SortOrder=Ascending Many of my neighbors are filing to represent themselves as interveners. We are a modest neighborhood established in the early 1960’s and of mostly seniors that live on Social Security. There is little money for high powered attorneys. We have many safety and cost concerns about this project. Our neighborhood includes an elementary school 800 feed from the property line of the proposed solar farm. The deadline to become an intervener in this process is November 10, 2025. So time is of the essence. That said our neighborhood is having a meeting on October 20, 2025 at 7 p.m. at the Chaparral Hills Baptist Church, 4000 West Cherry Avenue, Amarillo, TX 79108. We will also be scheduling a Zoom call for this meeting. You can contact Tracy Roper, the organizer of that meeting at tra@tratown.com if you need to make those arrangements. We would like to invite you to attend and even speak to our group. We would also ask you for a letter of support for our neighborhood and against the solar farm placement. We would like that letter to be submitted to the PUC docket. Xcel Energy did host a neighborhood meeting on October 7th that was supposed to be for sharing information about this project. Some information was shared but many questions were unanswered and information ask for was not brought to the meeting. Here is a link of the full video of that meeting. Thank you for any help you can give. Have a blessed day, Rolling Hills Community
